I painted the front to make them look weathered using a bunch of different random paints that I had on hand at the time..
Sometimes the smallest pieces of a project can be the most expensive!Realize that you’re almost definitely going to be running back to the store once or twice to get something you didn’t realize you needed or replace a piece that you made a mistake on.
It’s just part of the adventure!.Honestly, having a good idea is half the battle, so do your research!Look at hundreds of pictures and see which ideas you find that really stand out to you and then tailor them to your space and your skill level.
Having an idea that you’re really excited about will carry you through those hours and hours of measuring, nailing, and painting!You won’t be able to wait until you get to see the final result!

We’ve got plenty more of these types of projects either half underway or just in the planning stages around here.I love the depth and texture that you get from using the real beadboard.. We did look into buying a really high quality shelf for this corner, but since we’re hoping to put some corner cabinet built-ins in here one day, that just seemed like a lot of money to spend for a temporary shelf that will probably end up somewhere else in the house eventually.
